WinterBreak 2010

The lovely guys from Summerbreak invited me back to DJ at another of there events, Winterbreak. In the snowy slopes of Les Deux Alpes, 1500 students decend for one week of debauchery, and I was proudly there to supply the soundtrack. DJing alongside SHY FX, Jack Beats and B-Traits and Dynamite MC. Dynamite MC even MC'd over a set I played, whoop.

As well as DJing I got to spend a bit of time on the slopes which was great, might even go as far as saying its on par with surfing! :-o

Analog kindly hooked me up with some gear to keep me toasty, which was a lifesaver. During one set on the piste bar my laptop froze! We had to get a radiator into the boothe to thaw it out before we could start. Very cold indeed!

My Toasty Gul Wetsuits!

These things are keeping me alive! On a day out on the Ski they are literally a lifesaver. When we go out on the Ski's its usually for the whole day so keeping warm is so important. I usually wear a 5mm Recore, which is made from bamboo and recycled bottles, or the 6/5/4 hooded viper. Those suits are toasty! Also if its a windy day i will whack on a sailing wind cheater like the Ballistic Spraytop. As well as all this i get on the thickest gloves, boots and hood as possible.

Errant Surf Project Barry!: Were all going MENTAAAAL.....

HA!

The long waits betweens swell have been getting to us now. I think we have surfed about 5 times in the last two weeks. But we are still finding sick spot after sick spot!

Daily activities are still dawn to dusk wave searches, spending way to much time on ferries or the skis, and arguing over x factor. Plus im getting pretty good at call of duty on my playstation, thank god i brought that!

BUCS: Back to TR7 Update :)

What an amazing weekend! I played three sets over three nights. First night I opened up the weekend with a marathon set at Waves Nightclub. I took advantage of the free drink and cant remember much, i think the hardly drinking up north had some effect on me.

The second night saw me playing alongside one of my favourite producers and DJ's, NERO. If your not to familiar with the name, its like supporting U2 or Coldplay. I defiantly felt the pressure playing after him and closing the night, but after a couple of technical glitches at the start i calmed down a bit. The vibe was sick and everyone was raving there nuts of, and the club was packed!

Then the last night i warmed up for Urban Knights. There a sick duo who's set comes alive with amazing DJ skills and Visual FXs.

All in all an amazing weekend. Check out the shots below! :)

For the weekend i have returned to the ever amazing TR7 aka Newquay! Im here to DJ for the BUCS Surf Champs. Should be a laugh! :D

Errant Surf Project Barry!

Ok so Project Barry is on the way, we have been searching everywhere for waves! With so many islands to choose from, there is never a days rest, with 6am starts and 10pm finishes almost everyday. We have found about 10 set ups with looooads of potential, just need the right conditions now :)

Everyone is staying relatively sane in the house. Errant Surf have provided us with the sickest pad ever so we really cant complain!

Check out the first video, Timmy is an editing and filming god. He will happily film cows shitting and walk for ever up hills to get the 'shot'.

I go home for a bit soon, to DJ at the BUCS event in newquay. So i have just been getting ready for that :)

Analog Winter Gear is SICK

This is just a quick post about the Analog gear i've been given to use on this trip. The weather up here is crazy, one minute it could be sunny the next a gale force blizzard. So its really important i've got the right clothing. Analog are pretty much the best i could have in these conditions, its a lot like the mountains where Analog clothing is born from, so the snow jackets, trousers and gloves sit pretty at home here.

Project Barry Is Go! But First Fraserburgh

Ok, so me and Tom have finaly started making our way north. At the weekend we had a UKPST comp in Fraserburgh. The contest didnt exactly go well for me, i made it through a couple of heats and in my last one i needed a 7 to get through, i got a good wave, did three turns and got a 6.9. Typical. But no bother as it wasnt really a priority for me anyways :) At the event we caught up with GroundSwell CIC to help out with some free surf lessons for the local kids. Over the weekend i did 4 lessons, and got about 60 kids into surfing, that would never normally have had the chance. Now its up north with a few keen fellows from the comp...

Errant Exploration Trip 1- The North

Just did a trip up to the north east with the Errant Exploration Team. It was a sick trip with Tom Butler, Mitch Corbett and Chris Thomson. We drove hundreds and hundreds of miles, checked everywhere on the north east coast and surfed our brains out. Ive just been hooked up with Gul wetsuits so it was my first time wearing one, and it was toasty to say the least! We shot with Will Bailey and Tony Plant for Carve and PitPilot. Will post some vids and shots when they come through!

Djing Stuff From The Summer

Over the summer I DJ'ed at a few events. Including SummerBreak which attracts upwards of 2000 students every week for a month. I also had my own residency in a local bar, Fistral Beach Bar and ran another night. The Relentless/Vans Music Festival/Boardmasters was also a big event for me this summer where I played in the dance tent on the Saturday and the beach sessions after party on the Thursday. Here are a few pics and posters from it......

Slacker!!

Ive been seriously slacking on the blog the last month, training hard hard hard. Gotta get back with the program. The sea has been soooo cold recently, my west wetsuits have been saving my arse! Cheers guys!
